Dear Club Member, I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of William “Bill” Cunningham on October 3, 2008 after a battle with melanoma. Bill was an amazing person with a big heart and to many a true friend. Along with the many accomplishments in his life, Bill was a successful family and businessman who will be missed by countless friends and family members.

When Bill and I decided to open Zina Hyde Cunningham Winery, we had a goal in mind; we wanted to get the Cunningham family name back into the industry as the family winery had been shut down during prohibition. We decided upon the name Zina Hyde Cunningham as Zina is the family tie between Bill and me; Bill’s great grandfather and my great-great grandfather. Bill and I promised each other that if either one of us passed on, the other would continue with the family business and carry on the family name in the industry.

With Bill looking down upon me, I am committed to accepting the responsibility of carrying on his vision and dreams for the winery. I have always believed in quality and producing the best wine possible for each and every person to enjoy. I will strive to make Bill proud by keeping the family name in the wine industry recognized for superior wines and unsurpassed customer service. Bill’s children, Shalee, Kerry and Kyle will continue to take part in the family business and assist me with carrying out Bill’s dreams for the winery.

I have posted Bill’s obituary on our website, www.zinawinery.com, if you would like to read more about Bill and his accomplishments throughout his life.

Sincerely,
Steve Noble Ledson
