Taste the Place
Progressive Tasting & Exploration
With the Winemaker
Aug 6, 2011
Reserved Row Club Members
Annual Special Event.
For Wine Club Members Only.
It's time to start thinking about the best event in Anderson Valley, Zina Hyde Cunningham's 4th annual "Taste the Place." This day-long event is the most unique way to experience the beauty of the Anderson Valley while progressively tasting impeccable wines. As has become tradition, we will visit the vineyards that we have planted throughout the ranch, which some of you reserved rows in. Last year we began our row reservations to allow our club members to become more involved in the winemaking process by giving them the opportunity to reserve wines from these vineyards by "Reserving your Vineyard Row." By reserving a row you are guaranteed to receive wine from this vineyard at a fixed price for 3 years, a personalized sign will be placed on your vineyard row, and each and every bottle of wine is made just for you by including your personalization right on the label.
The day starts at 9:00am with everyone meeting at the Zina Hyde Cunningham tasting room. From there, we will split up into smaller groups, each with a personal wine consultant, and travel to our family ranch just a few minutes away. While on the ranch, the day will be lead by our winemaker as he explains each wine we taste, the vineyards we visit and answer any questions you might have. Throughout the day we will taste some of our most prestigious wines with specific food pairings while experiencing breathtaking views of the Anderson Valley. We will be served lunch at one of our winemakers favorite sites on the ranch where you can have personal conversations with the winemaker and hear stories about his memories growing up in the wine business. After your day of touring the ranch and visiting the vineyards, our last stop will be at the family lodge for a little relaxation, chances to win Zina Hyde Cunningham prizes, and a big family style dinner, reminiscent of those that our winemaker recalls from his childhood days on the ranch. Following dinner enjoy the sounds of live music and take in the fresh mountain air as you dance under the stars.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, August 6, 2011. We hope to see many of you there. We encourage attendees to dress appropriately and comfortably for a day at the ranch. Layers are suggested for the weather with a jacket for the evening, closed toed shoes, sunscreen and your coolest shades.
Reservations are $150 per person or $125 for those of you that have reserved rows.
